Legal Counsel, Product & Privacy

Location: Hybrid position based in Espoo, Finland or London, UK

What you will do

• Advise Product, R&D, and business teams on third-party and open-source software licensing within Qt’s dual-license model.
• Support Cyber Resilience Act compliance for hirify.global products and product teams.
• Provide legal support for strategic product and R&D initiatives.
• Advise on GDPR and EU AI Act compliance across hirify.global products.
• Partner with Security, Product, and Engineering to incorporate compliance into product decisions and frameworks.
• Support product, privacy, licensing, and IP matters related to M&A and subsidiary integration.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction with experience in technology, software, or IP law and regulatory matters.
• Practical experience with open-source licenses such as GPL/LGPL and third-party software licenses.
• Working knowledge of EU data protection law and GDPR.
• Ability to advise directly on product and R&D decisions in a fast-moving, multi-product company.
• Impeccable English communication skills required, including the ability to explain legal risk to non-legal stakeholders.
• Business acumen and a practical approach to compliance.

Nice to have

• German-language skills.
• IAPP certification.
• Experience in a dual-licensed open-source and commercial software company.
• Experience with M&A integration, product or IP diligence, and post-acquisition harmonization.
