What you will do
- Prepare payroll journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and financial reports.
- Reconcile wages, taxes, benefits, deductions, and payroll liabilities.
- Investigate discrepancies between payroll, Workday, HRIS, and financial systems.
- Maintain and audit payroll data in Workday and generate reports for accounting and audits.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, HR, and Benefits teams on process improvements, automation, and controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of payroll accounting or related experience.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll and/or Workday Financials is required.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger and payroll accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits accounting, reconciliations, and ERP systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-state or global payroll environments.
- Knowledge of SOX controls and compliance.
- Experience with payroll integrations and system implementations.
