Senior Google AI Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; US citizenship required, with the ability to obtain a DoW Secret security clearance.

What you will do

• Architect and deliver production-grade AI/ML solutions on Google Cloud using Vertex AI and Gemini/LLM services.
• Build data ingestion, processing, and transformation pipelines with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, and GKE.
• Implement MLOps capabilities including experiment tracking, model versioning, evaluation, monitoring, drift detection, automated retraining, and controlled rollouts.
• Apply secure-by-design patterns aligned with NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust principles.
• Operationalize RAG, tool-use agents, safety filters, evaluation harnesses, and retrieval across structured and unstructured data.
• Partner with mission stakeholders, lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and document architectures, controls, and operating procedures.

Requirements

• US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoW Secret security clearance are required; an active Secret clearance is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software development or data experience, including 5+ years in AI/ML engineering and MLOps with production Google Cloud deployments.
• Experience with Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow or Data Fusion, Dataproc, Looker, GKE or Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
• Expertise in Python and/or Go or TypeScript, along with practical experience in LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, RAG, evaluation, and guardrails.
• A current Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification and a current DoW Cyber Baseline Certification are required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in AI/ML, data science, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Active DoW Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Vertex AI Agent Builder, Model Garden, embeddings, BigQuery Vector, AlloyDB AI, and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience integrating GenAI safely within IL5 environments and familiarity with government AI platforms.
