Senior C++ Developer (Legacy)

Location: Poland; remote or office work

What you will do

• Analyze security requirements and assigned security findings.
• Implement security changes in a healthcare product.
• Remediate unsafe input and length handling, buffer overflows, memory corruption, and SQL injection risks.
• Maintain pointer-based, memory-sensitive, and threaded components in a large legacy C++ codebase.
• Assess technical impact and regression risks before changing existing functionality.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, continuous integration, and collaboration with client developers and architects.

Requirements

• Strong commercial C++ experience with mature or legacy codebases.
• Knowledge of low-level programming, pointers, pointer arithmetic, manual memory management, bounds checking, and memory safety.
• Experience preventing or remediating native-code vulnerabilities, including buffer overflows, memory corruption, and unsafe input handling.
• Experience with threading or multithreading and strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and secure database access, including good SQL knowledge.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, QA engineers, security experts, and product developers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qt or similar desktop GUI frameworks.
• Experience with Windows or Windows Server desktop and on-premises products.
• Oracle Database experience.
• Experience with ISAM or other legacy data-storage technologies.
• Experience remediating documented security findings.
