Location: On-site at the Tsukuba Plant in Inashiki-gun, Ibaraki, Japan

What you will do
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, training, audits, and inspections.
- Manage incident investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions, EHS performance monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee hazardous materials, waste disposal, air emissions, industrial hygiene, process safety, emergency plans, and safety budgets.
- Lead a three-person team and collaborate with plant leadership, global EHS, Human Resources, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Manage ISO certification activities, documentation, equipment and asset administration, visitor handling, facilities, utilities, events, and internal communications.
- Promote employee engagement and a strong safety and environmental culture throughout the plant.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge.
- 10+ years of EHS or safety management experience, including approximately 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits and management systems; knowledge of ISO 9001 is also relevant.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, waste management, air emissions, industrial hygiene, process safety, and environmental and safety laws.
- Experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
- Japanese and English communication skills are required; English must be sufficient to understand overseas conference calls.

- Six Sigma Black Belt or other continuous improvement experience.
