Systems: Network Reliability Engineer (Python)

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $225,000–$300,000 annual base salary, plus variable year-end compensation.

What you will do

• Manage and enhance the reliability of production network infrastructure through hands-on engineering and operational support.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across network and security platforms, including firewalls.
• Develop and maintain Python-based automation tools for network operations and configuration management.
• Implement and improve monitoring and observability systems for measurable, actionable network health and performance.
• Collaborate on infrastructure engineering and efficiency-improvement projects.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or another technical discipline, or comparable professional experience.
• At least five years of hands-on experience operating and engineering production networks at scale, including on-call responsibility.
• Strong networking fundamentals across Linux and/or Windows environments, with experience in UDP, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and multicast technologies such as PIM and IGMP.
• Experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting firewalls and security platforms such as Palo Alto.
• Experience with network metrics, monitoring, tracing, and declarative configuration management.
