Backend Engineer (AI)

hirify.global is a Series A startup building the data plane for AI visibility, processing chats, scrapes, citations, sources, model responses, and customer-facing insights.

What you will do

• Build and operate backend systems for scraping, chat processing, source ingestion, and analytics.
• Improve infrastructure reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
• Design and implement queueing, worker, retry, rate-limit, idempotency, webhook, and failure-handling systems.
• Debug incidents across application code, logs, metrics, queues, provider APIs, databases, networks, and deployments.
• Operate production systems through provider outages, customer escalations, noisy alerts, and slow dependencies.
• Document incidents and durable follow-up fixes through clear postmortems and engineering tickets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering experience in production.
• Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript and clean, reliable backend system design.
• Strong understanding of queues, workers, retries, rate limits, idempotency, distributed locks, webhooks, and failure handling.
• Experience operating systems under production pressure and debugging issues across multiple infrastructure layers.
• Comfort with cloud-native infrastructure and technologies including GCP, Kubernetes, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgres, Firestore, ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Product-minded judgement, high ownership, clear communication, and a bias toward durable fixes.
