Component & ECAD Library Engineer

What you will do

• Select and evaluate electronic components against technical, environmental, and application requirements.
• Manage part numbers, Approved Vendor Lists, preferred manufacturers, alternate sourcing, supply continuity, and component standardization.
• Monitor component lifecycles, PCNs, obsolescence risks, compliance requirements, and BOM risks.
• Create, maintain, and validate schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D component models using IPC standards and company guidelines.
• Review manufacturer datasheets, perform library quality checks, and resolve issues affecting schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Collaborate with hardware, PCB layout, procurement, manufacturing, quality, component engineering, and suppliers during NPI and sustaining engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Component Engineer and ECAD Librarian.
• Strong knowledge of EEE components and the ability to interpret datasheets, PCNs, and reliability data.
• Experience with AVL management, component lifecycle and obsolescence management, BOM analysis or scrubbing, and PLM/SAP systems.
• Familiarity with Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or equivalent EDA tools; experience with 2D/3D CAD tools is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, data management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office.
