Electrical Component Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Onsite in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru, Malaysia; occasional travel under 5%. Regular collaboration with global teams may require early morning or evening calls.

What you will do

• Manage component lifecycles and identify risks related to end-of-life events, product change notifications, last-time buys, and supply chain disruptions.
• Perform lifecycle risk assessments and detailed BOM scrubs using SiliconExpert and supplier databases.
• Identify obsolete, NRND, single-source, compliance, and supply chain-vulnerable components.
• Evaluate alternate components for form, fit, and function compatibility and prepare technical comparison reports.
• Create and maintain component data in Agile, including part descriptions, technical parameters, manufacturer information, lifecycle data, and compliance details.
• Support RoHS, REACH, conflict materials, tariff, ECO, and MCO activities in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in component engineering, SiliconExpert, lifecycle management, BOM analysis and scrubbing, and alternate component validation.
• Ability to learn complex systems quickly, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and external suppliers.
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams across different time zones, including occasional early morning or evening calls.
