Algorithm Developer (Python)

hirify.global builds software that digitizes, automates, and enables data-driven decision-making for public transportation networks, including fixed-route buses, microtransit, paratransit, school buses, and autonomous vehicles.

What you will do

• Take ownership of a large and complex codebase implementing hirify.global’s core algorithm.
• Develop and maintain multiple mission-critical production services.
• Maintain and improve existing algorithms and business logic.
• Develop new technical products and systems supporting transportation operations.
• Improve application performance and responsiveness for passengers and clients.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps engineers, algorithm developers, and researchers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on industry experience in backend development with Python.
• Deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software engineering methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD.
• Ability to deconstruct complex problems into smaller, manageable problems.
• Strong learning, collaboration, pragmatic, and concise problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes.
• Experience architecting and maintaining cloud systems.
