Senior Manager, External Manufacturing (Orthopaedics)

Johnson & Johnson MedTech develops healthcare and medical technology solutions, with the Orthopaedics business planned to become the standalone DePuy Synthes company.

What you will do

• Manage manufacturing operations and relationships with strategic external collaborator sites to ensure reliable product supply and customer service.
• Develop technical knowledge of products and manufacturing processes at collaborator facilities.
• Manage costs, feasibility requests, commercial claims, supplier disputes, and contract-related negotiations.
• Lead improvements, corrective actions, validations, technology transfers, manufacturing scale-ups, and new product commercialization activities.
• Support capacity planning, capital equipment monitoring, manufacturing floorspace projects, and startup activities at third-party facilities.
• Develop operational metrics and maintain compliant documentation, training, and archiving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant functional experience.
• Experience managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and working with supplier agreements.
• Experience in manufacturing operations, specifically in a GMP environment.
• Strong analytical and technical capabilities, project management skills, and experience leading cross-functional projects.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, strategic thinking, collaboration, and results orientation.
• Proficiency with the internet and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Medical technology, supply chain, external operations, procurement, distribution, or finance experience.
• Six Sigma or process excellence training or certification.
• Experience commercializing new products.
• MBA, APICS certification, and knowledge of ERP, MRP, or SAP systems.
