R&D Technician

What you will do

• Prepare and test chemical samples according to established procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Conduct routine and specialized tests supporting research and development projects.
• Support pilot-coating, formulation mixing, product characterisation, and performance evaluations.
• Record, analyse, and provide statistical product-performance data for development projects.
• Discuss evaluation results with R&D Chemists and contribute scientific insight based on product-performance data.

Requirements

• Hands-on knowledge of laboratory techniques, chemical handling, and analytical testing.
• Understanding of laboratory safety protocols, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to document and interpret results accurately, link chemistry and material science to product performance, and report progress on time.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and time-management skills.
• A degree in chemistry or a related subject is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with design of experiments and statistical analysis software such as Minitab.
