Software Engineer/SRE (Linux)

Location: Basingstoke, United Kingdom; hybrid position with at least 3 days in the office.

What you will do

• Support developers as the primary point of contact for DevTools including GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, and Artifactory.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and maintain reliable, scalable CI/CD pipelines and integrations.
• Design, implement, and maintain systems for high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Build observability solutions covering metrics, logging, and tracing, and improve application reliability through proactive monitoring.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Document troubleshooting guides and reliability playbooks while promoting automation and self-service solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• 0.5–3 years of experience in SRE, DevTools support, IT operations, or delivery roles.
• Beginner-level programming or scripting skills in at least two relevant languages or tools, such as Python, Java, Go, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
• Hands-on experience with Linux or Windows systems, distributed computing environments, container infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD and observability tooling in large-scale environments, plus relational and non-relational databases.
• Availability for 24/7 operational support and at least 3 office days per week in Basingstoke.
