What you will do

• Build and sustain relationships with European government entities, regulators, and industry organisations across six markets.
• Lead JD’s positioning on digital, competition, ecommerce, customs, product compliance, safety, trading standards, EPR, sustainability, AI, and supply chain policies.
• Support government engagement for expansion into new market lines and countries, including healthcare and private label.
• Represent JD in policy consultations and support regulatory investigations, inspections, enforcement matters, and horizon scanning.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to secure policy incentives, grants, and strategic government endorsements.
• Provide regulatory input on European M&A activity, including due diligence, antitrust considerations, and stakeholder mapping.

Requirements

• Strong experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, or government relations with senior EU or UK regulatory engagement.
• Confident understanding of the EU digital regulatory landscape.
• Experience in ecommerce, digital platforms, retail, or technology, either in-house or in an advisory role.
• Ability to establish a new function as its first hire and build a team.
• Experience working with Chinese-owned companies and European regulators is a significant advantage.
• Multilingual capabilities and Mandarin language skills are advantageous.
