Senior Product Designer — Design Systems (AI)

Location: Remote, based in the United States

What you will do

• Scale and evolve the design system across high-traffic and legacy product experiences.
• Audit product interfaces to identify component gaps, inconsistencies, duplication, and consolidation opportunities.
• Partner with engineers to create scalable, accessible, reusable, and production-ready components.
• Document design-system principles, standards, and key design decisions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Explore AI-enabled workflows for documentation, component discovery, quality assurance, pattern generation, and design-to-development efficiency.
• Measure design-system adoption and contribute hands-on to product design while balancing consistency, flexibility, scalability, and user needs.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of product design experience, including significant hands-on design-systems experience.
• Experience building, scaling, maintaining, or evolving design systems in digital product environments.
• Strong expertise in component-based design, reusable interaction patterns, systems thinking, and visual and interaction design.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma and understanding of how design-system components translate into production code.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and manage tradeoffs involving flexibility, consistency, maintainability, and scalability.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, a portfolio demonstrating measurable design-system impact, and willingness to begin with a six-month contract-to-hire arrangement.

• Experience in fintech, ecommerce, or other complex transactional product environments.
