Principal Architect (Data Architecture)

What you will do

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients, and external stakeholders to define project scope, system goals, and requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data consumption and use.
• Recommend suitable data platforms, repositories, and databases for project requirements.
• Map data attributes across domain models and produce data models, diagrams, flowcharts, and requirements for developers and testers.
• Deploy and troubleshoot data pipelines across legacy, modern, and cloud-based environments.
• Participate as a contributor in agile and Scrum ceremonies while collaborating with technical leads, developers, and client solutions teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of varied technical experience designing and developing data pipelines and data stores.
• Experience designing data architectures for business intelligence and analytical use cases, including data modeling, data mapping, data warehouses, and data marts.
• Experience with TFS, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SSIS, Power BI, and extensive SQL.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DynamoDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, ElastiCache, and GraphQL.
• Experience with ETL technologies including AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, and Apache NiFi, plus data systems performance tuning.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, presentation, codebase review, and refactoring skills; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Consulting experience.
• Knowledge of big data on cloud platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, AWS, RDS Oracle, or Redshift.
• Python or PowerShell scripting experience.
