Junior Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote within Germany; offices in Aachen and Munich. Applications are accepted only from candidates currently located in Germany.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Go services integrating external cloud providers and energy partners.
• Translate provider-specific APIs into standardized connections for measurements and control commands.
• Develop integrations using API documentation, OAuth specifications, and webhook contracts.
• Evolve the integration framework, event-processing chains, data stores, and reusable abstractions.
• Debug distributed failures using structured logs, traces, and metrics, and write tests for API contracts, webhooks, command delivery, and failure modes.
• Contribute to TypeSpec/OpenAPI and protobuf/gRPC specifications while collaborating with API teams, Product Owners, Platform Engineers, and energy experts.

Requirements

• Backend development experience with Go, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, PostgreSQL, AWS, CI/CD, and Nix.
• Ability to take ownership of services from implementation through deployment, operation, and monitoring.
• Experience or interest in API integrations, distributed systems, testing, observability, and real-time data processing.
• Currently located in Germany.
• English is the working language.

Nice to have

• Electrical engineering knowledge, including power, current, and phases.
• Experience running Go backend workloads on Kubernetes.
• Experience with IoT or embedded-adjacent systems.
• Contributions to open-source Go projects.
• German language skills.
