Cloud Engineer (AWS/Azure)

Salary: AUD 160,000–180,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments.
• Architect secure network solutions covering VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, and connectivity.
• Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, security groups, NACLs, Azure NSGs, and other security controls.
• Maintain and extend infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and TypeScript.
• Support cloud migrations, hybrid cloud architecture, CI/CD deployment infrastructure, and secure VPN or private connectivity.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security while troubleshooting cloud, network, firewall, and vulnerability issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience working with AWS and/or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing tables, and DNS.
• Experience configuring firewalls and cloud security controls such as Palo Alto, AWS Security Groups, NACLs, Azure NSGs, and Azure Firewall.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, secure network connectivity, VPNs, private endpoints, and hybrid networking.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps, plus scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect certification.
• Experience with CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or similar monitoring and logging tools.
• Knowledge of zero-trust, network segmentation, private networking, multi-cloud, or hybrid cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and Agile practices.
