Senior Staff GenAI Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Sunnyvale, California, United States

Annual salary: $200,000–$235,000 USD, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Architect, implement, and operationalize agentic AI frameworks for context retrieval, insight generation, automated reporting, and decision support.
• Own the full generative AI lifecycle from problem framing and model development through scalable deployment and ongoing operation.
• Build and fine-tune GenAI models and services integrating diverse data sources, APIs, and enterprise applications.
• Enable multimodal reasoning and intelligent automation across research, product, and engineering workflows.
• Partner with R&D, product, and engineering teams to validate use cases and deliver production-grade solutions.
• Drive model governance, evaluation, safety reviews, monitoring, experimentation standards, and MLOps practices.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a similar field with 10+ years of related experience, or a PhD with 8+ years of related experience.
• Strong experience with LLMs, GenAI architectures, agentic systems, model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and retrieval augmented generation.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, event pipelines, distributed computing, and distributed storage.
• Experience designing high-performance back-end and front-end services.
• Proficiency in Python, modern ML frameworks, agent-assistant coding frameworks, automated deployment, CI/CD, and testing.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex issues and deliver and operate large-scale models in production.
