TL;DR
AI Engineer - FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) (GenAI): Building and productionizing first-of-its-kind GenAI and LLM applications at scale for customer engagements with an accent on RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, fine-tuning, and production deployment. Focus on evaluating and optimizing AI applications, deploying machine learning systems on cloud platforms, advising customers, and shaping product priorities with engineering and product teams.
Location: United States; open to remote locations. Travel to customers may be required once every 4–8 weeks.
Salary: $152,900–$210,155 USD annually, with potential annual performance bonus, equity, and regional benefits.

What you will do
- Develop GenAI solutions using modern AI research techniques to solve customer problems.
- Own production rollouts of consumer-facing and internal GenAI applications.
- Advise customers as a trusted technical expert across different business domains.
- Present technical work at conferences and contribute to internal and external thought leadership.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and shape the product roadmap.
Requirements
- Experienced engineer with industry experience designing, building, and deploying production GenAI and LLM applications at scale; this role is not intended for interns, new graduates, or entry-level applicants.
- Experience building GenAI applications involving RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, or fine-tuning, using tools such as HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy.
- Expertise in production-grade GenAI deployment, evaluation, and optimization.
- Extensive hands-on industry data science experience with tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
- Experience deploying production-grade machine learning systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience, plus the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Experience with the Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark for large-scale distributed data processing.
