Manager, Strategic Sourcing (Life Sciences)

What you will do

• Develop and implement regional and global sourcing strategies for Early Phase Discovery and Preclinical Operations.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects, including planning, budgets, milestones, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
• Analyze ERP and supplier data to identify cost savings, value creation, and market opportunities.
• Lead supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract execution, and strategic supplier reviews.
• Partner with Scientific Operations, Laboratory Leadership, Animal Resources, Quality, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams.
• Mitigate supply, logistics, supplier performance, regulatory, and animal model availability risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, supply chain, procurement, life sciences, biology, animal science, veterinary science, chemistry, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of professional experience, including 5 years in procurement, purchasing, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing.
• Experience in laboratory, CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or another regulated environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, strategic supplier relationships, and measurable cost-saving initiatives.
• Experience with global supplier management and international sourcing.
• High proficiency in English at C1+ level required.

Nice to have

• Experience with animal model sourcing, vivarium operations, or preclinical research procurement.
• Experience sourcing laboratory consumables, scientific equipment, maintenance services, or outsourced research services.
• Materials management, inventory management, or broader supply chain experience.
• Additional language skills.
