Senior Systems Engineer (Aseptic Filling)

Location: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada; on-site role

Salary: CAD 90,000–125,000 per year, plus bonus/incentive pay

What you will do

• Lead system architecture and hands-on technical design for new gloveless aseptic filling technologies.
• Guide systems from concept through integration, verification and validation, testing, and commercialization.
• Translate stakeholder needs into system requirements, design inputs, subsystem interfaces, and verification strategies.
• Drive risk analysis, design reviews, testing, and root cause analysis to resolve technical challenges.
• Provide systems engineering leadership across cross-functional teams working on complex automation projects.
• Support continuous improvement of aseptic filling workcells, including SA25 and Microcell.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing complex automated or life sciences equipment with hands-on technical or project leadership experience.
• Experience converting user and stakeholder needs into requirements, system architecture, subsystem interfaces, and traceable V&V activities.
• Experience applying risk analysis methods such as FMEA to automated equipment design and verification.
• Experience across the engineering lifecycle, including concept development, design, build, integration, testing, and V&V.
• Ability to work on-site in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience designing aseptic filling equipment.
• Experience with robotics systems or machine vision systems.
