Engineering Manager (DevOps)

Location: Brisbane, QLD, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home

What you will do

• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams across multiple Agile squads.
• Drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and site reliability engineering practices.
• Provide technical leadership across software architecture, solution design, security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Establish and track engineering health metrics, operational performance, system reliability, and technical debt.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering, and Delivery stakeholders to govern technical designs and manage risks.
• Develop workforce planning, recruitment, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning strategies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3–5 years leading engineering teams.
• Experience delivering web, cloud-native, and integration solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture patterns, and modern development practices.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of system reliability, observability, performance optimisation, and operational support models.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
