What you will do
- Lead a portfolio of software teams through Engineering Managers and Tech Leads.
- Set technical, architectural, and delivery direction across multiple squads.
- Coach Engineering Managers and Tech Leads while maintaining accountability for team health, delivery, and technical quality.
- Establish engineering standards across CI/CD, testing, observability, security, incident response, and operational health.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Commercial leaders to connect engineering investment to customer and business outcomes.
- Lead AI-forward ways of working and build roadmaps aligned with domain outcomes and measurable OKRs.
Requirements
- 6+ years of engineering leadership experience, including at least 3 years leading multiple teams or Engineering Managers.
- Experience in a product-led technology business and multi-team delivery.
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to assess architecture and make build, buy, or defer recommendations.
- Proven experience developing Engineering Managers and leading through other leaders.
- Experience with AI-augmented engineering and understanding of its impact on team structure, throughput, and engineering practices.
- Strong stakeholder communication, commercial judgment, prioritisation, and trade-off management skills.
