Location: Austin, Texas — Austin Midtown, 901 W 38th St #200, Austin, Texas 78705. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.; no weekends, call, or major holidays. The role also requires frequent travel by air or automobile, approximately 70% of the workweek.

What you will do

  • Perform moderate- and high-complexity testing across chemistry, hematology, immunology, and specialized diagnostic laboratory procedures.
  • Work primarily in flow cytometry and assess results for accuracy, retesting, or equipment recalibration.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, assist with phlebotomy and special procedures, and prepare samples for in-house and reference-laboratory testing.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, prepare reagents, manage supplies, and document maintenance activities.
  • Execute quality control, proficiency testing, corrective actions, result verification, and CLIA-compliant documentation.
  • Train employees, act as a laboratory science resource, and oversee daily laboratory activities when the supervisor is absent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related healthcare field; alternatively, a baccalaureate degree in biological science or chemistry with the required biology and chemistry coursework.
  • Current state license where required; licensure and certification requirements depend on the state.
  • AMT, ASCP, or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Level 1 is entry-level with no experience required; Level 2 requires at least three years of experience, and Senior level requires five years.
  • Experience with flow cytometry is preferred.
  • Ability to perform CLIA-classified moderate- and high-complexity testing, follow OSHA and universal precaution procedures, and handle laboratory equipment and materials safely.
