What you will do
- Perform authorized high-complexity clinical laboratory tests in accordance with education, training, experience, and technical capabilities.
- Handle and process specimens, analyze tests, report patient results, and maintain required records.
- Conduct proficiency testing in the same manner as patient specimen testing.
- Document quality-control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
- Identify problems affecting test performance or result reporting, correct them when possible, and notify the appropriate laboratory supervisor or director.
- Document corrective actions when test systems fall outside established performance specifications.
Requirements
- Current California CGMBS license preferred; CLS license acceptable.
- At least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Ability to follow detailed safety and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting sample intake and processing timelines.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including Saturdays and evenings.
Nice to have
- Experience in a high-complexity molecular testing environment.
- Next-generation sequencing or array genotyping experience.
