Lead System Engineer (Defense)

Location: Immenstaad am Bodensee, Germany, at the Airbus site

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary technical teams across multiple sites and coordinate work with engineers, stakeholders, and customers.
• Oversee the decomposition of complex systems into subsystems and components.
• Define and maintain project schedules and execute technical plans.
• Make strategic and technical decisions to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
• Monitor quality, progress, and reporting while applying agile methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with defense industry standards and travel as needed for coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of systems engineering experience, preferably in the defense or automotive industry.
• Expertise in system breakdown, requirements engineering, and testing.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing projects across multiple sites.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, organization, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Familiarity with defense industry standards and practices.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Scrum and SAFe agile methodologies.
