Quality Manager - Powertrain (Manufacturing)

Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico; full-time role at an engine and transmission assembly plant.

What you will do

• Lead the plant quality strategy, Quality Policy, Quality Operating System, and Powertrain Quality organization.
• Define, deploy, maintain, and audit quality management systems, programs, scorecards, and compliance activities.
• Oversee corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, structured problem solving, and integration of lessons learned into DFMEAs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and manufacturing processes.
• Develop quality metrics, including Clean Build and Rolling First Pass Yield, and coordinate responses to plant concerns, field issues, and rework.
• Lead the quality inspection roadmap, including automation, error-proofing, metrology, and advanced inspection technologies.
• Manage departmental budgeting, talent development, training, and cross-functional collaboration with Safety, Engineering, Operations, Materials, Supply Chain, and Product Development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Science, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, engineering, or plant operations.
• Direct experience with combustion engine, CVT, and/or automatic transmission assembly processes.
• Leadership experience managing quality organizations and cross-functional teams.
• Advanced knowledge of SPC, GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA, DOE, CAPA, APQP, ISO standards, dimensional engineering, and metrology.
• Strong project management, data analysis, communication, Microsoft Office, and Minitab skills.

Nice to have

• Master's degree, ASQ certifications, and Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certifications.
• ISO and/or ASME certifications and experience implementing quality management systems.
• Experience with new product introduction, product development, Poka-Yoke, quality automation, and inspection technologies.
• Experience standardizing quality systems across multiple facilities and developing high-performing teams.
