Project Finance Support Specialist (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Review assigned projects monthly, including revenue recognition, performance variances, unbilled and unearned positions, backlog, and related financial activity.
• Review and approve work movements, revenue adjustments, project journals, write-offs, and other financial adjustments.
• Prepare monthly reports and financial analyses, and monitor exception reports for unbilled activity, write-offs, contract activation, rate issues, and over-limit conditions.
• Coordinate the loading and reconciliation of project budgets and payment schedules against contracted values and negotiated terms.
• Configure project and contract modules, including rate sets, activity plans, contract lines, and billing or revenue limits.
• Complete project check-offs, close-out procedures, compliance reporting, and assigned monthly or quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley reports; train junior support staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, project finance, or another finance-related function.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and reporting.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition, variance analysis, unbilled and unearned revenue, cash flow management, backlog forecasting, and technical accounting.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills, judgment within established procedures, prioritization, and stakeholder coordination.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare or life sciences.
• Familiarity with Cvent or similar event management systems.
