Principal Applications Engineer (High Voltage GaN)

What you will do

• Support customer design-in activities for 650V/700V High Voltage GaN products and review schematics, layouts, and power architectures.
• Develop and validate GaN evaluation boards and reference designs for AC-DC supplies, Totem-Pole PFC, LLC, DC-DC converters, UPS systems, solar inverters, and server and industrial power systems.
• Optimize efficiency, thermal performance, EMI, switching behavior, gate driving, and overall system performance.
• Execute product validation plans, characterize devices and systems, and support root-cause analysis of customer and field issues.
• Support customers in Taiwan through design, prototyping, validation, and production, including troubleshooting, demonstrations, training, and technical presentations.
• Create application notes, design guides, evaluation reports, presentations, and reference design documentation while collaborating with sales, marketing, product engineering, FAE, and R&D teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in power electronics and power conversion applications.
• Experience with High Voltage GaN, SiC power systems, server power supplies, UPS, solar inverters, EV charging, or industrial power supplies.
• Hands-on experience with AC-DC power conversion, PFC, LLC, DC-DC converters, and high-frequency switching systems.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Fluent English communication skills required.
