Director Enterprise AI Governance

Location: Spring, Texas, United States of America

Salary: $174,050–$275,000 USD annually, plus potential bonus and/or equity; the stated range applies to United States candidates.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise AI operating model, including strategy, portfolio prioritization, governance cadence, funding guardrails, and executive reporting.
• Govern GitHub Copilot, OpenAI/ChatGPT/Codex, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio access, licensing, provisioning, usage, and cost controls.
• Establish financial controls covering cost-center mapping, chargeback, allocation rules, budget thresholds, and consumption reporting.
• Operate the Digital AI Nerve Center for use-case intake, qualification, security and privacy review, stage gates, prioritization, funding, delivery handoff, and risk escalation.
• Manage technology and consulting partners, including Microsoft, OpenAI, GitHub, AWS, ServiceNow, and Deloitte, across AI SDLC work, pilots, hackathons, and adoption programs.
• Build monthly dashboards measuring adoption, spend, capacity, exceptions, risk, delivery status, and realized value.

Requirements

• 12+ years of job-related and/or management experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering tools and software, or a related field.
• Four-year or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Progressive experience in AI strategy, governance, administration, platform operations, or technology portfolio management.
• Experience with SaaS, cloud, developer, productivity, and generative AI platforms, as well as FinOps, licensing, budgeting, consumption management, and chargeback.
• Experience with demand intake, stage gates, value tracking, security, privacy, responsible AI, risk, compliance, executive communication, vendor management, and enterprise transformation.
• Role location: Spring, Texas, United States of America.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Enterprise/Copilot, OpenAI Enterprise/ChatGPT/Codex, Microsoft 365 Copilot/Copilot Studio, ServiceNow demand management, AI Control Tower, AI SDLC, and executive dashboarding.
