TL;DR
Underwriting Portfolio Management Analyst (Insurance): Transforming internal and external insurance data into actionable portfolio intelligence with an accent on performance analysis, competitive positioning, and visualization. Focus on leading end-to-end analysis projects, applying predictive and segmentation techniques, and developing recommendations for underwriting and portfolio decisions.

Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week at the St. Louis Corporate Office in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $66,500–$86,000 annual base salary, plus potential holiday bonus and incentive awards.

What you will do

  • Support underwriting portfolio management by converting internal and external data into actionable business intelligence.
  • Analyze portfolio performance, competitive positioning, market trends, and strategic opportunities.
  • Lead end-to-end data analysis projects, including data sourcing, validation, cleansing, modeling, and interpretation.
  • Develop clear dashboards, visualizations, written reports, and presentations for business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, business intelligence, and advanced analytics teams.
  • Identify opportunities to use automation, AI, and emerging technologies to improve analytical efficiency and insight generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, analytics, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant postgraduate study or experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an analyst role, including relevant academic, research, internship, or project experience.
  • Ability to collect, organize, validate, cleanse, and analyze data to solve business problems and test hypotheses.
  • Familiarity with segmentation, forecasting, outlier handling, benchmarking, predictive analysis, and data modeling.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, collaboration, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship and availability for the required hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
  • Experience with AI productivity tools, prompt engineering, custom GPTs, or emerging analytical technologies.
  • Experience in market research, competitive intelligence, insurance, financial services, consulting, advanced analytics, or actuarial science.
