Assistant Vice President, Competitive Intelligence & Corporate Development (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid role requiring at least 3 days per week in the St. Louis Corporate Office, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $149,000–$200,500 base salary, plus potential holiday bonus and incentive awards.

What you will do

• Advise executive leadership through actionable competitive, market, and industry intelligence.
• Lead and evolve the competitive intelligence program, analyzing financial, regulatory, and market data.
• Prepare executive-ready reports, presentations, market sizing, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
• Identify and evaluate acquisitions, partnerships, investments, new products, and new market opportunities.
• Conduct strategic evaluations, fit assessments, valuation analyses, and preliminary due diligence.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, Insurance Compliance, executives, bankers, consultants, and external industry advisors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, insurance, strategy, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in competitive intelligence, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, corporate development, or a related analytical field.
• Experience evaluating acquisition targets, strategic partnerships, investments, or other corporate development opportunities.
• Strong financial analysis, valuation, business modeling, and strategic positioning skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence or analytical tools.
• Current U.S. work authorization without requiring company sponsorship now or in the future, and availability for the required hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Public accounting experience or CPA certification.
• Experience in insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or specialty risk management.
• Knowledge of insurance economics, distribution models, and competitive dynamics.
