Director, Corporate Development (Hybrid)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; office-based hybrid work with occasional travel of less than 10%

Salary: $182,000–$215,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus

What you will do

• Drive the inorganic growth strategy by sourcing and prioritizing mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance, and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Build the strategic transaction pipeline using competitive analysis, market signals, and investment theses.
• Lead cross-functional diligence, valuation, financial modeling, return analysis, negotiation, and governance approvals.
• Prepare executive leadership and Board of Directors materials covering transaction rationale, economics, risks, mitigations, and milestones.
• Manage external workstreams with banks, legal counsel, counterparties, and other advisors through closing.
• Lead post-transaction integration and value capture, including Day 1/100 plans, governance, KPI tracking, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, or financial analysis.
• Experience managing direct reports or leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
• Experience leading complex, high-visibility projects with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of financial services and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Master of Business Administration, CPA, or CFA.
• Background in finance, legal, or actuarial disciplines.
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions or strategic partnerships.
