Cyber Underwriter (San Francisco or LA)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California, or Los Angeles, California; U.S. work authorization is required without current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $89,700–$150,060 annual base salary, plus holiday bonus and incentive awards.

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal cyber insurance business for large commercial accounts.
• Analyze cyber risks, exposures, security controls, financial information, and loss history.
• Determine pricing, retentions, limits, coverage terms, and manuscript endorsements.
• Build relationships with brokers, risk managers, insureds, and internal business partners.
• Support underwriting strategy, guidelines, procedures, and new business development.
• Collaborate with Account Services, Claims, Legal, Business Development, and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent underwriting experience may substitute.
• Experience underwriting new and renewal cyber business or large commercial accounts.
• Ability to evaluate complex cyber risks and make sound pricing and coverage decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to build productive broker and client relationships and collaborate across functions.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of cyber underwriting experience.
• Insurance brokerage experience and success in an underwriting production environment.
• Experience developing underwriting guidelines, procedures, or reference materials.
• Experience with manuscript endorsements and complex insurance contracts.
• CPCU, RPLU, AU, or other relevant insurance designations.
