Staff Officer (Ukrainian Linguist)

Location: Bydgoszcz, Poland; onsite at the Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre.

hirify.global presents a civilian linguistic support position at NATO’s Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre, supporting NATO–Ukraine interoperability and defence transformation.

What you will do

• Translate official documents, including budgets, financial statements, reports, correspondence, and articles, between English and Ukrainian.
• Provide English–Ukrainian interpretation at JATEC events and coordinate interpretation support for the Command.
• Revise, edit, format, and proofread translations produced internally and by freelance translators.
• Maintain and improve glossaries, especially for technical and military terminology.
• Coordinate terminology exchanges with NATO bodies and international organizations and represent JATEC at relevant conferences and working groups.
• Advise JATEC staff on linguistic matters and provide editorial assistance in both official languages.

Requirements

• University degree with 4 years of related experience, or higher secondary education with advanced vocational training and the required professional experience.
• At least 4 years of professional translation experience in English and Ukrainian.
• At least 4 years of experience revising, editing, formatting, and proofreading English and Ukrainian documents and publications.
• At least 2 years of experience with computer-assisted translation, terminology tools, voice-recognition software, interpretation equipment, or dictation systems.
• Ukrainian native speaker required; English at NATO SLP 4343 required.
• The host nation language, Polish, is required. NATO SECRET Security Clearance must be obtained before contract confirmation and employment begins.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NATO organization and terminology.
• Working knowledge of NATO IKM tools such as SharePoint, DHS, and TT+.
• Previous experience in a multinational environment.
