Unum Scholar Intern (Insurance)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, USA; hybrid. Must work at least 15 hours per week during regular business hours, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with availability for up to 40 hours during school breaks based on business needs.

Salary: $33,200–$52,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide transactional support to business areas with a focus on productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
• Complete assigned work items on time and deliver high-quality service to business partners.
• Build effective partnerships and collaborate across departments.
• Support peers, address conflict constructively, and give and receive feedback.
• Follow privacy guidelines and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Enrollment in and active attendance at an accredited four-year college degree program or MBA program.
• Preferred completion of two years of college coursework and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the major or overall.
• Critical thinking, analytical, communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, and perform in a high-production, deadline-driven environment.
• Satisfactory background check and a minimum nine-month commitment to the internship program are required.
