Profee Coding Consultant (Medical Coding)

What you will do

• Review medical records and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS codes.
• Conduct data quality reviews against official coding and documentation guidelines.
• Provide coding consulting and educational support to healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Communicate with clients, healthcare leaders, hospital staff, management, and colleagues about clinical and reimbursement matters.
• Use VPN access, follow HIM policies, track continuing education credits, and attend mandatory educational meetings.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of medical coding experience.
• AHIMA certification such as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS, or AAPC certification such as CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC, or CRC.
• Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software.
• Strong written and verbal communication, remote-work capability, and time-management skills.
• Ability to pass annual introductory HIPAA and other assigned examinations.
• Must be eligible to work remotely from the United States; employment sponsorship is not available.
