Product Data Scientist (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid

Salary: $185,000–$260,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and GTM to define questions, success criteria, and data-informed roadmap and prioritization decisions.
• Establish product metrics covering activation, adoption, retention, expansion, reliability, and user experience.
• Design measurement plans, analyze A/B experiments and controlled rollouts, and translate results into product decisions.
• Analyze customer signals alongside request, replica, deployment, and cluster telemetry to diagnose reliability and scaling behavior.
• Define the enterprise customer journey and measure feature adoption, release performance, recovery behavior, MTTR, and self-serve incident outcomes.
• Build source-of-truth reporting and self-serve analytics tools, turning customer and cohort insights into clear recommendations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product data science, product analytics, or another quantitative role, ideally supporting developer platforms, APIs, or B2B products.
• Deep SQL and Python fluency with experience analyzing large event-level datasets.
• Strong statistical judgment and practical experimentation experience, including test design and power analysis.
• Hands-on forecasting experience with ARIMA, Prophet, or comparable time-series methods, including backtesting and scenario planning.
• Experience designing medallion data architectures with testing, documentation, and lineage.
• Familiarity with dbt, semantic layers, data ontology, and BI tools such as Sigma or Hex.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, model serving, GPU systems, or distributed-system observability.
• Experience with usage-based pricing, APIs, platform unit economics, capacity planning, or enterprise product analytics.
• Experience with vLLM, SGLang, Dynamo, or comparable model-serving frameworks and inference engines.
