Data Infrastructure Architect

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Define and lead the architecture of an enterprise data platform across ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and consumption layers.
• Set standards for data modeling, lifecycle management, and the strategic direction of data infrastructure.
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, ML, and business stakeholders to deliver a scalable data foundation.
• Lead large data platform initiatives across multiple teams and drive architectural decisions.
• Implement governance, data lineage, and catalog capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of data engineering experience, including significant architecture experience.
• Deep expertise in at least two major data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Strong knowledge of lakehouse architectures, modern table formats, streaming systems, and dimensional, normalized, and data-vault modeling.
• Production-scale experience with Spark, Flink, or Kafka, plus a solid understanding of cloud platforms, networking, identity, and cost optimization.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and cross-team leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with data mesh or data product architectures.
• Familiarity with dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, or LookML.
• Experience in regulated industries with data residency or audit requirements.
• Cloud or platform certifications, or public talks and writing on data architecture.
