Intern - Controls Engineering

Location: Suwanee, Georgia, United States; onsite. Ability to relocate if not local. The twelve-week summer internship is expected to run from the third week of May through the first week of August, with dates subject to change.

What you will do

• Support new product development across the engineering team.
• Validate software operation in electronic equipment controls through application-level and circuitry-level analysis.
• Follow application development, validation, troubleshooting, and product-release processes.
• Prepare technical information and training materials for functional groups, customers, and leadership.
• Use engineering tools and processes including computer-aided design and reliability analysis.
• Develop specifications, project plans, work breakdown structures, milestones, schedules, and cost plans while communicating project status.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a program pursuing at least a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, computer, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels, prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail.
• Motivation and willingness to learn.
• Ability to relocate if not local to Suwanee, Georgia.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of CAN, BACnet, Modbus, or TCP/IP communications protocols.
• Experience with electronic analysis methodologies, development and validation toolsets, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of PLCs, programmable platforms, embedded controls, and C/C++ or structured-text and function-block programming.
• Previous manufacturing internship experience or knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, structural analysis, or basic electrical wiring.
