Salary: $118,600–$204,000 per year across U.S. locations

What you will do

  • Lead a large multidisciplinary engineering team of managers, engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Direct vehicle controls research, development, verification, validation, testing, and production implementation.
  • Develop and establish control strategies for engine, hybrid, electric, autonomous, material-handling, suspension, and auxiliary vehicle systems.
  • Set engineering goals, technical baselines, product strategies, budgets, project estimates, milestones, and funding proposals.
  • Research emerging technologies, identify innovative solutions, and guide technical decisions and organizational modernization.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, customers, suppliers, industry consortiums, universities, and internal business functions to resolve complex technical issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of related experience; 12-plus years with a bachelor’s degree, 10-plus years with a master’s degree, or 5 years with a Ph.D.
  • Automotive or heavy-duty vehicle experience involving vehicle control systems.
  • Expertise in one or more areas such as suspension control, powertrain control, vehicle stability control, material-handling equipment control, vehicle dynamics simulation, or advanced hydraulic control.
  • In-depth experience with automotive or heavy-duty vehicle CAN bus and architecture, as well as MathWorks, dSPACE, Vector tools, and AUTOSAR.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage budgets and P&L responsibility, make complex technical decisions, and present decisions to leadership and customers.

Nice to have

  • Embedded software development experience with C, C++, C#, or Python.
