Controls Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Berea, Kentucky, United States; hybrid work option available with an onsite manufacturing-facility base

What you will do

• Design and develop control systems for powered industrial vehicles.
• Implement robotic technology and control solutions across multiple product platforms.
• Validate systems through software-in-loop, hardware-in-loop, and in-vehicle testing.
• Investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
• Create design, evaluation, and compliance documentation for marketing, manufacturing, and service teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, testing, and other cross-functional groups on product development and production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.
• Recent graduate or limited professional experience.
• Understanding of control-system design, architecture, theory, electronic hardware, embedded software, and real-time control networks.
• Experience with Simulink and software for controlling physical devices.
• Basic proficiency in C and C++ and familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, and Agile practices.
• Knowledge of embedded operating-system concepts, J1939, CAN, drafting, CAD, engineering analysis, and vehicle technology.

Nice to have

• Experience in material handling, automotive, or related industries.
• Ability to operate forklift trucks; training is provided if needed.
