Actuary (Life Pricing)

Location: Hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office, Tuesday through Thursday, at a hub location in Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, or Denver, United States. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Salary: $145,000–$180,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus of 20%.

What you will do

• Manage actuarial functions for a life insurance product line or corporate process.
• Prepare and interpret actuarial information for management and monitor profitability by product or line of business.
• Maintain products and processes in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Manage studies supporting actuarial assumptions and provide assumptions and data to internal stakeholders.
• Support product development, including systems specifications, contracts, commission structures, and pricing.
• Analyze actuarial techniques, regulations, laws, and competitive developments; advise on pricing, modeling, and reserving.

Requirements

• FSA or equivalent designation, a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field, and 7 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, a master's degree in a listed discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or ASA/equivalent designation with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong leadership, judgment, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to communicate advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to varied audiences.
• Excellent computer skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints.
• Ability to work in the office three days per week at a Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, or Denver hub; no relocation assistance is provided.
