Controller, Accounting & Reporting (Apparel)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. The role involves travel during the year and flexibility to work extended hours during critical reporting deadlines.

What you will do

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual global financial close, consolidation, internal reporting, intercompany eliminations, journal entries, system administration, and balance sheet reviews.
• Lead the Corporate Accounting & Reporting team and oversee SEC filings, disclosure reviews, SOX control execution, earnings materials, and annual reports.
• Research and implement new accounting standards while governing BlackLine policies, business process controls, deficiency assessments, and remediation plans.
• Coordinate the global consolidated financial statement audit and collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and Supply Chain on strategic transactions.
• Lead accounting and reporting workstreams for acquisitions, dispositions, ERP implementations, organizational changes, and other transformation initiatives.
• Oversee statutory reporting support, sustainability reporting, external specialists, and financial reporting for U.S. benefit plans.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of accounting or financial reporting experience at a Big Four or mid-tier accounting firm or a U.S. publicly traded company.
• Expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX, FASB requirements, and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Progressively responsible accounting leadership experience, including global business and accounting operations and exposure to the consumer goods or apparel industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent international certification required.
• Experience managing external audits, resolving findings, leading system upgrades or reorganizations, and working with SAP Group Reporting, SAP S/4, Workiva, AuditBoard, BlackLine, and Microsoft Office.
