Corporate Controller (SEC Reporting)

Location: On-site in Farmers Branch / North Dallas, Texas

hirify.global operates an e-commerce firearms retail platform alongside the PEW Logistics B2B distribution business and is a newly public company.

What you will do

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Prepare and review SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, and maintain the SEC reporting and XBRL calendars.
• Design and maintain the SOX Section 404 internal controls framework, including walkthroughs, testing, remediation, and Audit Committee reporting.
• Manage the annual external audit, audit evidence, technical accounting questions, and filing-timeline risks.
• Lead the accounting organization, including the Assistant Controller, GL & AP team, and SEC Reporting Manager; manage department goals, succession, budget, and resources.
• Own ERP and general ledger configuration while automating close, reconciliation, and reporting processes and supporting FP&A, Treasury, Operations, Merchandising, and M&A activities.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or SEC Reporting leadership role at a public company.
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Forms 10-K and 10-Q and managing SOX Section 404 compliance.
• Strong technical GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Experience managing accounting teams with 5+ direct or indirect reports and working as a hands-on leader in a lean finance organization.
• Experience with a modern ERP/GL system such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics, plus close-management or reporting automation tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and an active CPA license required. No visa sponsorship is being offered.

Nice to have

• Experience with an IPO or de-SPAC transition.
• Big 4 or national public accounting, audit, or technical accounting advisory experience.
• Retail, e-commerce, consumer products, inventory-heavy business, or firearms regulatory and compliance experience.
