Propulsion Test Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Mojave, California, United States. The role requires extended field test operations in an outdoor, physically demanding environment and access to U.S. export-controlled information. Candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Pay range: $22.87–$58.92 USD, California, depending on level and experience.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and operate rocket thruster test stands focused on high-pressure fluid systems.
• Install, uninstall, inspect, and maintain rocket engine thrusters and related equipment.
• Support development, acceptance, qualification, and investigative test campaigns.
• Follow detailed work instructions and test procedures during hazardous operations in clean-room and outdoor environments.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems and perform pressure proof testing.
• Collaborate with test engineers and improve safety and productivity at the test site.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in testing, manufacturing, instrument fitting, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
• Experience bending and flaring stainless steel tubing and building or testing high-pressure fluid systems.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery, including forklifts, all-terrain forklifts, and overhead equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work onsite outdoors in temperatures from freezing conditions to 120°F.

Nice to have

• Experience operating or fabricating high-pressure, 6 kpsi gaseous oxygen systems.
• Experience with precision cleaning and assembly of precision-cleaned systems.
• Experience rebuilding high-pressure valves and regulators.
