Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The position is based at hirify.global's global headquarters and is for candidates seeking to work in US offices. US citizenship or other authorization to access ITAR-regulated technology is required.

Base Salary: $124,000–$171,000 USD annually. Total Compensation, including base and equity: $144,000–$206,000 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Lead mechanical formulation for satellite systems supporting business development and new opportunity capture.
  • Develop lightweight satellite bus configurations, structures, mechanisms, and deployment systems.
  • Manage mass and mechanical technical budgets, system requirements, verification techniques, and configuration trades.
  • Perform structural, thermal, vibration, packaging, hand-calculation, and FEA analyses, including test planning and data analysis.
  • Lead mechanical technical development from conceptual design through production, testing, and operation.
  • Create CAD models, production drawings, interface specifications, CONOPS, schedules, vendor plans, budgets, and test procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
  • Experience with CAD modeling and technical drawing.
  • US citizenship is required due to program requirements.
  • Work in US offices requires eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology or obtain the applicable US government authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Active security clearance and advanced engineering degree.
  • Spacecraft design, deployment systems, mechanism development, and rapid conceptual design experience.
  • Experience with GD&T, hands-on development and testing, and thermal or vibration test-data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, space environment, orbital mechanics, and rigid-body dynamics.
  • Experience with JAMA, DOORS, requirements assessments, and interface control documents.
