IT Infrastructure Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Mississauga, Canada; hybrid work with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week

Salary: CAD 79,000–127,000 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, administer, maintain, and support data center technology components.
• Develop and modify IT infrastructure to meet business objectives, including enterprise-scale high-availability systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, switches, firewalls, hard drives, and other data center hardware.
• Work with customers, stakeholders, and system owners to define requirements, assess feasibility and costs, and recommend technical solutions.
• Perform system health checks, monitor network security, and resolve operational, infrastructure, and hardware incidents.
• Monitor data center environmental conditions and maintain accessible, organized equipment areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred experience of 3–5 years in IT infrastructure or data center operations.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Linux, networking, switching and routing, firewalls, data protection, LAN, WAN, MPLS, and monitoring systems.
• Experience with server construction, rack elevation, high availability configurations, configuration management, optimization, tuning, and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of rack and blade server hardware and data center electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, UPS, ATS, PDU/PMM, and CRAC units.
• Must complete and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Clearance (PERC) and be able to work a rotational on-call shift and after hours when necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience in security-focused environments, audit remediation, and systems hardening.
• Experience with scripting and automation.
