TL;DR
Associate VP, State Markets Operations and Strategy (EdTech): Overseeing state-market data systems, dashboards, and cross-functional strategies for K–12 assessment and instructional materials with an accent on state policy, regulatory requirements, and actionable market intelligence. Focus on analyzing national and state-level trends, developing policy and business cases, managing strategic dependencies, and advising senior leadership.
Location: US Remote; travel up to 30% may be required.
Salary: $126,750–$233,750 per year, plus eligibility for the company bonus plan.

What you will do
- Oversee and optimize state dashboard tools covering assessment, policy, and instructional-material requirements across all 50 states.
- Analyze state-level policy and market trends, assess business impacts, and lead strategic adjustments across the organization.
- Partner with Assessment, Adoptions/Bids and Proposals, Educator Success, Marketing, Sales, Research, and State Solutions teams to collect and use state-market data.
- Produce recurring reports, tailored resources, and interactive dashboards for internal stakeholders.
- Manage dependencies, risks, retrospectives, and process improvements related to state strategies.
- Advise the Vice President, Policy and Engagement; lead special projects and develop policy cases, proposals, research, and external communications materials.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of state assessment and instructional-materials markets, K–12 education, edtech, and curriculum and assessment trends.
- 5–10 years of successful management experience in cross-functional edtech, digital, or assessment programs.
- Bachelor’s degree and familiarity with state education policy, departments of education, and national K–12 trends.
- Expertise in Smartsheet and similar collaboration or project-management tools, including SharePoint.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into strategic recommendations, business cases, policy proposals, and actionable next steps.
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice to have
- PMP certification.
- Product management experience.
- MBA or MA in a relevant field.
- Experience with digital assessment, curricular products, edtech, publishing, or high-stakes assessment use cases.
- Familiarity with products and services.
